Does YonaCast support lossless WAV uploads?

Yes! Unlike standard control panels that restrict uploads to MP3 files, YonaCast Radio supports high-quality, lossless WAV files inside your Media Library.

How it works:

When you upload a WAV file to your library, YonaCast stores the raw high-fidelity audio asset. The moment the playout engine schedules that track for playout, our backend automatically transcodes the PCM audio into the station's configured output bitrate (e.g. 128 kbps or 192 kbps MP3 stream) on the fly.

Why upload WAVs?

• Prastine Master Quality: Uploading WAVs ensures you are uploading the highest quality raw master track, preventing double-compression loss that happens when transcoding from a compressed MP3 to another MP3 bitrate.
• Vocal Clarity: Excellent for spoken track drops, advertisements, and station IDs where compression artifacts are highly noticeable.

⚠️ Check your limits:

WAV files are much larger than MP3s. Ensure you monitor your available VPS storage space. Also, verify that your administrator has enabled the **WAV Upload** toggle in your Feature Management section.
