What is Standby Fallback playout?

In radio broadcasting, **dead air** (absolute silence) is the worst-case scenario. YonaCast Radio protects your stream with an automated **Standby Fallback** mechanism.

How it works:

When you create a new station, YonaCast automatically seeds a default playlist named **"Fallback"** containing a default silent track (fallback.mp3).

If there is any hour in your 7-day schedule timeline where you have not scheduled any program blocks, the playout engine detects that no active show is configured and automatically falls back to playing files from the **Fallback** playlist in shuffle mode.

Customizing your Fallback audio:

You can customize what plays during these unscheduled hours:

1. Go to the **Playlists** page.
2. Locate the **Fallback** playlist.
3. Click the **Edit Tracks** icon.
4. Upload your own background music tracks, generic loops, or station promotional IDs to this playlist.
5. (Optional) You can delete the default fallback.mp3 silent file once you have uploaded your own tracks.

Now, whenever your scheduled shows end, your station will smoothly fade into your custom fallback music instead of going silent.
